Legal US residents must possess a social security number and be citizens of a NATO country. The 31ST Force Support Squadron is not currently providing logistical support. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Progressively responsible experience in a recreation program activity. Practical knowledge of recreational activities, rules, regulations, and procedures. Ability to safeguard and handle cash. Maintenance of various recreational equipment and facilities is desirable. Must be able lift 40lbs. or more and stand for a long period of time.

Position Overview

About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and is located at the Aviano Fitness Center. This is a NAF (Non-Appropriated Fund) position assigned to the 31st Force Support Squadron at Aviano AB, Italy.

Duties

  • Performs and/or assists other recreation/sports/fitness assistants or specialists in the operation and maintenance of indoor/outdoor recreation/fitness facilities/programs. Establish events as well as rules and regulations to be observed. Ensures facilities are properly set up for a particular event, including gymnasium and playing fields for sports events, tournaments, and practice games. Other duties include but are not limited to the following: Set up & tear down to include dragging/marking recreation areas for scheduled activities. Demonstrates and instructs participants in the use of various equipment and provides guidance and safety instructions. Inspects facilities and equipment for security and general conditions; determines need for maintenance and repair. Records and monitors attendance; takes reservations, payments and maintains financial documents. Ensures adequate supplies are on hand to meet the needs of the operation and/or customers. Maintain files for all equipment. Notifies participants of schedule changes. Assist in monitoring, maintaining and accounting for resale inventory and equipment. Observes the condition and behavior of all patrons to ascertain any potential problems. Resolves problems when appropriate. Instructs, cautions, and/or expels patrons as appropriate IAW Facility guidelines. Ensure facilities are open and equipment is operational. Maintains cleanliness of facility. Answer telephones, assists customers, & provides requested information. Operates washer and dryers in order to maintain cleanliness of such items as towels, uniforms, etc. Performs other related duties as assigned.
