Basic Requirement for Pharmacist: Education: A doctoral degree in Pharmacy that is recognized by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) Exemption: You are exempt from the basic requirement above if you are a current federal employee occupying a position in the 0660 occupational series and have been continuously employed in this occupational series since September 27, 2017 or before. Note: You will be required to provide appropriate documentation to the respective Human Resources Office to validate your status. Licensure: A current, active, valid, and unrestricted license to practice pharmacy in a State, a territory of the United States, or the District of Columbia. (Note: You must attach a copy of your license.) Medical Requirement: Must be able to distinguish basic colors. Experience: One year of professional pharmacy experience specific to inpatient clinical functions that includes preparing medications, providing patient counseling, and monitoring the dispensing of pharmaceuticals. Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Outpatient Pharmacy with some inpatient/clinical experience highly desired/preferred.

Position Overview

About the Position: This position is located at The Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington. A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Salary negotiation may be available for those candidates who are new to Federal service. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

Duties

  • This position is responsible for the clinical pharmacy functions of the military treatment facility (MTF)
  • Incumbent serves as the MTF expert on pharmaceuticals, polypharmacy and pharmacotherapeutics.
  • Prepares, conducts, or oversees the training of students, physicians, pharmacists, and other health care providers on the use of drugs and other pharmaceuticals.
  • Conducts Medication Therapy Management (MTM) Services in the ambulatory care setting.
