A qualified candidate must possess the following: Three (3) months of laboring experience. Ability to use, control and clean tools and power equipment used. Ability to follow oral and/or written instructions involving duties with several distinct task or steps without constant supervision of each task assigned.
Position Overview
This position is located at Fort McCoy Pine View Campground is a large full-service campground that includes over 170 campsites and 17 cabins. A well-stocked camp store provides essentials, and a wide range of activities are available to guests. Announcement will have a first cutoff date of Aug 13, 2026, and applicants that submit a complete application packet prior to that date and found eligible may be given first consideration. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid.
Duties
- Loads and unloads conveyances; moves materials using wheelbarrows, hand trucks or dollies; stacks and arranges supplies for storage; collects refuse and recyclable materials.
- Digs, fills and tamps soil and gravel in earth excavations; levels ground using pick, shovel, tamper and rake. Mows grass, lays sod, weeds flowerbeds, trims and edges walkways and lawns.
- Prunes shrubs and trees; applies fertilizer, waters plants, cleans out drainage ditches, shovels snow from walks and driveways.
- Maintains stock of cleaning materials and implements used. Notifies supervisor when additional materials are needed. Moves heavy items of furniture and office equipment as required.
- May assist with snowmaking operations and snow removal. May assist with special events in and around the installation. Other duties as assigned
