A qualified candidate must possess the following: Demonstrated work experience that include the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the work of the position to be filled. Possess specialized knowledge of automotive mechanical systems, to include repair and maintenance. Work experience must have been equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level. In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified": Possess a current and valid ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) Certification(s). Must provide the certificate at the time of application. Possess a minimum of two (2) years of experience specifically managing a military Auto Skills Center or an automotive shop or a self-service garage. Possess experience managing hazardous materials and environmental compliance (EPA/OSHA) in an industrial or Auto shop setting with the ability to provide safety training and managing personal protective equipment (PPE) protocols. Possess 1-2 years in NAF MWR management experience demonstrating knowledge of military community recreation programs, NAF personnel management (NAF budgets, fiscal management, budget formulation, property and internal controls). Applicant meeting the Best Qualifying Criteria/Highly Preferred will be referred to the hiring manager. All other qualified applicants will be referred if requested by the hiring manager. Position Overview
This position is located at USAG Ansbach - MWR, Urlas Kaserne Auto Skills Center, Ansbach, Germany. Incentives and Bonuses Incentives may be paid.
Duties
- Serves as the Installation Automotive Crafts Facility Manager with responsibility for operation and implementation of activities in a diversified self-help automotive maintenance facility.
- Provides technical knowledge in automotive maintenance and repair. Analyzes major trends and projects potential changes in program emphasis. Plans and develops shop activities of the Auto Crafts Program.
- Develops SOPs. Submits budgetary requirements for both NAF and APF for equipment and supplies and labor. Performs vehicle maintenance on NAF vehicles. Schedules and assigns work of lower graded employees.
- Provides one-0n-one instruction and guidance to patrons.
