Basic Requirement for Clinical Psychologist (Neuropsychologist): Degree: Doctoral Degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) directly related to full professional work in clinical psychology. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes conducting psycho-diagnostic assessments; formulating treatment plans; and assisting in neuropsychological services. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted. Licensure Requirement: A current, active, valid, and unrestricted clinical license to practice Psychology independently offered by a U.S. State, the District of Columbia, Commonwealth, territory, or jurisdiction is required.

About the Position: This position is for Psychology Services at EVANS Army Community Hospital at Fort Carson, CO. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

Duties

  • Functions as a professional Clinical Neuropsychologist for the Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Clinic.
  • As clinician and consultant, provides specialized assessment and, when required individual and group cognitive rehabilitative, clinical neuropsychological services to adults with complex neurological and psychiatric disorders.
  • Assists in developing, implementing, and managing neuropsychological services for the assessment of the behavioral effects of central nervous system dysfunction.
  • Provides professional consultation and liaison to other medical organizations regarding the identification and diagnosis of TBI and complex neurobehavioral cases.
  • May conduct research in clinical and/or Neuro rehab psychology, to include research on outcomes of the effectiveness of the various studies and treatments,
  • as well as on new psychological tools and computer programs which may increase the efficiency and effectiveness of patient evaluations.
