Position Overview
This position is located in the Office of Chief Financial Officer, Division of Comptroller.The supervisor is Justin Cole.

Duties
The successful candidate will perform the full range of Senior Financial Management Specialist (TL) duties.Such duties include but are not limited to:
- The incumbent serves as the Team Leader for the Travel Operations Team reporting to the comptroller in the Division of Comptroller (DOC), OCFO, and is responsible for the coordination and execution of certain travel operations and financial activities for the agency.
- Responsible for formulating and executing policies, standards, and procedures for travel operations, and related fiscal services and reporting requirements. Responsible for interagency customer outreach and support.
- Typical assignments include: assisting in the formulation, review and improvement of policy, procedures and practices for NRC in conforming with Treasury, GSA, GAO and other procedures and practices; and interpreting their impact on the travel operations of NRC; reviewing and approving travel transactions; reconciling accounts; preparing reports; reviewing, analyzing and resolving various financial management related matters; leading and rendering assistance to the staff on travel related matters; and participating in reviews and special assignments designed to improve internal controls and operating procedures.
Qualifications & Requirements
In order to qualify for this position, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at the next lower grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector.SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE is defined as: Specialized experience includes extensive knowledge and experience in managing and overseeing agency-wide travel programs, including foreign travel, premium travel, and the GSA SmartPay Card Program. Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, and administer travel-related regulations, policies, standards, and procedures in compliance with Federal Travel Regulations (FTR), General Services Administration (GSA) guidelines, and other federal policies. Proven track record in providing expert advice and assistance to management and customers regarding appropriation law, administrative control of funds, financial management, and federal travel regulations. Skilled in authorizing official travel, reviewing and approving travel vouchers, and ensuring compliance with agency and federal guidelines. Experience in leading teams and facilitating process improvements to optimize travel operations. Proficient in administering and certifying the availability of funds, analyzing accounting transactions, and reconciling financial data to ensure accuracy and compliance. Adept at managing travel management systems, conducting system testing, and supporting end-users through configuration and training. Recognized for delivering high-quality customer service, resolving travel-related issues, and supporting audits and reviews by internal and external stakeholders.
Candidates must also have specialized experience performing financial transactions in the agency core financial system (FAIMIS), including: recording accounting transactions; reconciling accounts; preparing reports; analyzing internal controls; and reviewing, analyzing and resolving a variety of issues.
