Basic Requirement for Social Worker: Degree: Master's degree (or higher degree) in Social Work from a school accredited by the Council on Social Work Education. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: License: A current, active, valid, and unrestricted independent Social Work clinical licensure from a U.S. State, District of Columbia, Commonwealth, territory, or jurisdiction is required. AND Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes, conducting behavioral health assessments; providing individual and group treatment and working as part of a multidisciplinary team. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work preformed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-11. Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
Position Overview
About the Position: This position is located at Naval Hospital Beaufort, South Carolina This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized. Student Loan repayment may be authorized. Non-Federal work experience may be creditable for leave purposes.
Duties
- Apply biopsychosocial evaluations to propose behavioral health interventions.
- Provide evidence-based treatment, including behavioral, cognitive, and motivational approaches.
- Provide primary care providers and staff regular and concise feedback on the status of referred patients, to include recommendatons for team-based care.
- Implement psychoeducational classes to target high frequency diagnoses found in the primary care clinic.
- Document information in the electronic health record during patient encounters
- Collect bio-psychosocial information about patients using interview, case history, observation techniques, and assessment methods.
- Provide a comprehensive range of complex clinical mental health care to individuals severely impacted by moderate to severe psychiatric diagnoses.
- Evaluate treatment effectiveness and make adjustments to patient's treatment plans as appropriate.
- Provides limited case management to improve individual family and occupational functioning and mitigate crises.
