BASIC REQUIREMENT(S): Education A graduate or higher level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program is required. This education must have been accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education(external link), Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs(external link), Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education(external link), or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education(external link) at the time the degree was obtained. Degree from Foreign Nursing School: Official certification from the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools (external link) is required for individuals who graduated from foreign nursing schools. Licensure For all grade levels and positions, applicants must have passed the National Council Licensure Examination(external link). In addition, they must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. In addition, to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below- MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Implementing, analyzing, coordinating and evaluating multi-service clinical software applications in a hospital or clinic setting; Evaluating, managing and developing solutions to program failures following implementation of software patches. Teaching and training end-users regarding clinical software applications. Experience coordinating services for patients with chronic conditions requiring a long-term plan of care. You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement.
Position Overview
The position is established as an interdisciplinary position. Employee serves as a specialist/integrator in the implementation and ongoing multi-service software applications used in the hospital and clinic setting for the Gallup Indian Medical Center and Tohatchi Health Center. Provides specialized nursing care to patients with injuries, illnesses or attitudes. A REAL ID will be required beginning May 7, 2025, in accordance with 6 C.F.R. 37.5 (2021).
Duties
- Total Compensation Package - Check out IHS's outstanding total compensation package for this job: Registered Nurse Total Compensation | Pay (ihs.gov) Responsible for the implementation and support of multi-service software packages that automate the capture of clinical encounter information and its subsequent retrieval. The application coordinator manages the customization of the site parameters, table maintenance, technical settings and addresses integration issues with other software packages. Analyzes and evaluates processes related to information flow. Serves as liaison between service lines, clinics and departments concerning these processes, clinical, business and administrative. Acquires a comprehensive knowledge of the software involved to determine what are procedural issues versus systems/application deficiencies. Establishes effective Interpersonal relationships with all levels of medical center personnel. Promotes an atmosphere that encourages enthusiasm and user participation in clinical computing. Creates a positive environment for reporting application and/or system deficiencies and suggestions for system improvements and enhanced functionality. Performs administrative, consultative, or staff advisory work concerning the administration of a nursing program for hospital, clinic, or other medical care facility. Serves as role model and teacher for experienced and fully trained nurses in providing care to patients assigned because of their special needs, for example, ulcer patients who are not responding to usual treatment.
