THIS IS A TITLE 32 DUAL STATUS POSITION

DUTY LOCATION:
103d Air Control Squadron (ACS), Orange, CT

AREA(S) OF CONSIDERATION:

Area 1:
All currently employed full-time permanent and indefinite personnel of the Connecticut Air National Guard.
Area 2: All currently employed full-time temporary technician personnel and all current traditional members of the Connecticut Air National Guard.

JOB SUMMARY:
The purpose of this position is to implement logistics policy programs and procedures, utilizing automated/non-automated systems for the accurate control of logistical planning in support of unit tasked contingency operations around the world.

NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED. This is an excepted position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the Connecticut Air National Guard.

The major duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Serves as the program manager for the Integrated Deployment System (IDS) Deployment Management System (DeMS), Contingency Operations/Mobility Planning and Executive System (COMPES), Logistics Module-Base Level (LOGMOD-B), Computer Aided Load Manifesting (CALM), and Cargo Movement Operations System (CMOS).
  • Formulates and consolidates logistical annexes for IDS guidance, based on regulations, manuals, instructions and directives issues by higher headquarters.
  • At the direction of, and in conjunction with, the commander, identifies required deployment/redeployment support with the unit staff and host base for the transportation of equipment and personnel.
  • Reviews resource/logistics plans, programs and deployment activities with the commander to ensure authorized mobility equipment is available or on order, and ensures equipment is properly budgeted.
  • Participates in site surveys to ascertain, identify and plan airlift and logistical support requirement needs in support of unit contingency operations/taskings.

Qualifications & Requirements

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education or training involving judgment and/or analytical ability in the logistics field. Experience using computer and automation systems.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Your resume and any other supporting documentation you wish to provide must clearly substantiate you currently possess 36 months of specialized experience in the following:
  • Experience, education, or training identifying activities involving logistical support operations.
  • Experience integrating the actions of a variety of specialized support activities in order to develop a comprehensive logistics plan.
  • Experience monitoring such functions as program planning, resource and fiscal management, training, manpower management, and/or automated data processing to meet the logistics plan.
  • Experience identifying delays or problems and developing corrective actions.
  • Experience working with people from various levels and backgrounds to elicit their cooperation to perform specific tasks, and complying with regulations, laws, or practices.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Skill in the integration of unit based supply, transportation and operations functions into a cohesive logistics package in order to ensure effective and efficient deployment planning and training exercises.
  • Ability to apply analytical and statistical methods and procedures to the analysis of logistical plans, or results of exercises, in order to increase program effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Knowledge of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) operations planning process to the development of logistics plans, exercises and deployment operations.
  • Skill and ability to develop, write, instruct and evaluate deployment-training programs.
  • Ability to evaluate data, from multiple sources, for use in developing practical logistical plans and operations.
  • Knowledge of computer operations, software applications and systems management to analyze data and generate solutions to logistics planning issues or problems.

COMPATIBLE MILITARY ASSIGNMENT: All applications will be considered regardless of Branch/AOC/FA/AFSC. Incumbent will be required to be assigned to compatible military position within 1 year of selection. The selected individual may be required to attend formal technician school training.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: This position requires a security clearance (secret) which the applicant must possess or be able to obtain a clearance within one year of appointment. For positions requiring the operation of motor vehicles, candidates must have a valid state driver's license for the state in which they live or are principally employed.

Conditions of Employment
