Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes scheduling patient appointments, preparing a variety of reports utilizing office automation tools such as Military Health System (MHS) Genesis, and documenting patient charts in a medical treatment facility or clinic setting. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).

About the Position: This is a Medical Support Assistant position located at Naval Medical Center in San Diego, California. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation
Duties
- Maintain a close working relationship with wards and clinics and their primary supervisors or medical officials to assist them in assuring appropriate quality of admissions.
- Assess eligibility of admitted service members, dependents, retirees, local and national political leaders, judges, and Veterans.
- Provide advisory services to management on admissions and transfer procedures.
- Assist in the pulling of medical records for monthly external reviews.
- Coordinate incoming transfers from other facilities, ensuring bed on applicable ward.
