Position Overview

This position is located in the Government Accountability Office, Chief Administrative Office. As GAO's Orders Program Manager, you will be responsible for directing GAO's Orders Program, overseeing the development, review, and implementation of agency-wide orders, policies, and guidance, advising senior executives, managing programs and projects, and evaluating and communicating on the efficiency and effectiveness of relevant GAO policies, programs, and operations.

Duties

As a GAO Orders Program Manager, PT, 0343, 4, your typical work assignments may include the following:
  • Directs the GAO Order's Program, overseeing the comprehensive development, review, and implementation of GAO Orders and other guidance documents that establish agency-wide policies and procedures for GAO operations, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Provides direction to GAO's senior executives responsible for managing the components of GAO's administrative infrastructure to ensure GAO Orders comport interdependently across functional areas.
  • Manages multiple projects concurrently, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
  • Serves as the authoritative source on interpretation and implementation of GAO Orders, in consultation with subject matter experts, both internally and externally.
  • Conducts thorough analyses of existing GAO policies programs and operation to assess their effectiveness and efficiency.

Qualifications & Requirements

You may qualify at the BAND IV level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirement:

Applicants must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower band level, PT-III, CS-III, PE-IIB equivalent to the Band III level or GS-14 level in the federal service, which has equipped the applicant with the skills and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of the position.

Specialized experience is defined as experience leading enterprise policy or governance programs, developing agency-wide policies, interpreting laws and regulations, and advising senior leadership, leading cross-functional initiatives, and improving organizational effectiveness through policy analysis and program management.
