Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience with personnel security regulations, forms, and procedures. Issuing and controlling of security badges, operating and maintaining various items of access equipment and automated systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level in the federal service (GS-04). OR Education: Successful completion of four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of by 60. Add the two percentages.

Position Overview

About the Position: Joint office environment with shared space. Hours 0730 to 1600. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

Duties

  • As security assistant, incumbent is responsible for performing and resolving a full range of both standard procedural and non-recurring/unusual visitor access assignments.
  • Operates and performs research queries on the Joint Personnel Adjudication System, (JPAS), Defense Information Security System, and Personnel investigative Portal (PIPS).
  • Controls, prepares, issues identification badges, cards, and passes that allow access of civilian, military, contractor personnel, and visitors to DDEAMC, and at the discretion of the employee or higher graded staff.
  • Sets up and maintains visitor control roster and badges accountability log, which is subject to quarterly and annual reviews and inventories.
  • Operates and maintains various items of access control equipment and automated systems to include computer equipment used in the identification and registration process.
