Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a Cook without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform common duties such as preparing and cooking a variety of simple menu items that require little or no processing. I can set up and serve hot and/or cold food on cafeteria and patient tray lines adhering to portion control. I can follow safety and sanitation procedures in food handling and in cleanup. I work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.- Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

Position Overview

About the Position: This position is located at Evans Army Community Hospital in Fort Carson, Colorado. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation. A recruitment or relocation incentive may be authorized.

Duties

  • Perform regular and modified salad preparation tasks such as making fruit and vegetable salads.
  • Prepare limited breakfast foods that will involve grilling or frying.
  • Perform patient tray service duties to include the assembly of patient trays.
  • Set up and replenishing the salad bar in accordance with established procedures.
  • Operate a variety of kitchen equipment, which utilizes gas, electricity, steam or microwave heat sources.
  • Arrange food items for regular and modified diets.
  • Maintain proper food safety and sanitation standards.
