Position Overview
THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a SUPPORT SERVICES SPECIALIST, Position Description Number D1595P02 and is part of the KS Joint Forces Headquarters, National Guard.
Duties
As a SUPPORT SERVICES SPECIALIST, GS-0342-09, you will serve as an assistant Printing and Publications Control Officer, responsible for providing guidance and input in order to carry out the provisions of the installation and/or state Publishing and Printing Program. Assists in leading the installation and/or state Printing and Reproduction Program and/or Facility. Provides input to the installation and/or state filed printing program regarding the limitations and capabilities of all types of commercial printer and multi-function devices (MFD). Serves in the Admin Services Section of the User Support Branch. Responsible for managing, planning, and coordinating a variety of administrative support services for installation and/or state operations, to include, but not limited to, communication, correspondence, records management, mail and task management, procurement, budget, protocol, reports, personnel, and special programs. Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications & Requirements

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education or training in administrative, professional, technical, or other work that provided knowledge of support services. Knowledge of administrative methods and procedures used in planning and organizing work, and skill in dealing with others in person-to-person work relationships. Experience working with people from various levels and backgrounds to obtain cooperation or compliance with procedures, rules, or practices. Experience using computer and automation systems.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have 1-year specialized experience, education or training equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Must have experience, education, or training dealing with management principles and supervisory responsibility for support service functions required by type of position to be filled and the organization involved.
Physical Demands: The work is primarily sedentary, with no unusual physical demands
Work Environment: The work is performed in a typical office setting, with no unusual risks or hazards.
Education
Substitution of Education for specialized experience:
2 full academic year of graduate-level education or a master's or equivalent graduate degree is creditable for GS-9.

- This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard, required prior to the effective date of placement.
- Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.

- Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation.
- May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.

- Must possess privileged level permissions, to manage official records within system of records platforms.
