Position Overview

Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) is looking for the best and brightest to join our Team! MCCS is a comprehensive program that supports and enhances the quality of life for Marines, their families, and others in the Marine Corps Community. We offer a team oriented environment comprised of military personnel, civilian employees, contractors and volunteers who keep the organization functioning smoothly and effectively.

Duties

Assist the Manager in the supervision, management, and administration of the Single Marine Program.  Assists manager in coordinating a variety of leisure, recreational activities (indoor/outdoor) and special events offered to station single Marines, unaccompanied service members and service members.  Activities are designed to introduce and help service members to adjust to the station local area and culture and in the deployed area, as well as promote and foster peer relationships. 

May supervises employees to include: assigning and distributing work, coaching, counseling, tutoring, and mentoring employees; approving and disapproving leave, recommending and completing personnel actions, completing performance reviews and signing timecards, training employees, keeping abreast of and actively supporting the principles of the EEO program, and prevention of sexual harassment.  Must be alert to alcohol abuse, and take appropriate action.  

Assists the Manager in organizing special events.  Supervises safety operations. Reports any requirements for maintenance, cleaning and/or repair to the Manager as required.  Assumes 
operational duties in the absence of the Manager. 

Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphasis on courtesy.  Assists customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner.  Acknowledges customers, smiles and makes eye 
contact.  Asks questions to determine, verify and solve problems.  Checks for satisfaction on the quality of goods and services.  Takes action to solve problems quickly.  Alerts the higher level 
supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise.

Adheres to safety regulations and standards.  Uses required safety equipment, and observes safe work procedures. Promptly reports any observed workplace hazards, and any injury, occupational illness, and/or property damage resulting from workplace mishaps to the immediate supervisor. 

Adheres to established standards of actively supporting the principles of the EEO program and prevention of sexual harassment.   

Performs other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications & Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Three years experience that demonstrates a practical knowledge and experience in a variety of recreational activities with a preference for Single Marine Program. Must have knowledge of equipment, supplies and procedures in order to maintain efficient functioning of the operation.  Must have the ability to work independently.  Must be able to work 
irregular hours.  Must possess or have the ability to obtain CPR certification from the American Red Cross.  This is a mixed position where the incumbent must be able to lift and carry objects up to 45lbs independently and objects over 45lbs with assistance.
