Position Overview
Joining the Secret Service, Office of Strategic Intelligence and Information, Protective Intelligence and Assessment Division will allow you to oversee the protective intelligence administrative staff, manage daily operations, compliance and policy enforcement, facilitate communication, and problem solving to support the Division's goals.For definitions of terms found in this announcement, please click here.
Duties
The selectee will serve as an Operations Supervisor in the Office of Strategic Intelligence and Information, Protective Intelligence and Assessment Division. Typical work assignments include:- Oversees integrated programs related to property and fleet management, internal and external communications; data analysis and reporting; financial management and accountability.
- Facilitates internal and external audits of protective intelligence programs and personnel and provides input and guidance on procedures.
- Performs the full range of supervisory functions such as plans and directs work to be accomplished, sets priorities and prepares schedules for completing work.
- Develops adequate procedures to maintain continuity of operations; and participates in formal meetings with divisional leadership (i.e., Special Agent in Charge, Deputy Special Agent in Charge, Assistant Special Agent in Charge) with respect to short and long-term planning.
Qualifications & Requirements
To be considered qualified for this position you must meet the following qualification requirements for the respective grade level in which you are applying.
You qualify for the GS-14 level if you possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level performing duties such as:
- Monitoring programs related to operational and administrative services.
- Leading working groups to evaluate administrative procedures and recommend solutions that are cost effective and increase efficiency.
- Managing the dissemination of communication regarding sensitive information.
- Developing and managing a variety of electronic reports across organizations for leadership to utilize for operational decision-making.
Time-in-Grade Requirements: Under competitive merit promotion procedures, any individual who is currently holding, or who has held within the previous 52 weeks, a General Schedule position under a non-temporary appointment in the competitive or excepted service, must meet "time-in-grade" requirements (have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade of the grade for which you are applying). Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to current competitive service employees applying for a Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment. NOTE: All current or former Federal employees must provide a copy of their SF-50, "Notice of Personnel Action" that indicates proof of status and time-in-grade eligibility. The SF-50 must include your position, title, series, grade, step, tenure (1 or 2), and type of service (Competitive or Excepted). You may need to submit more than one SF-50 to comply.
