In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing administrative and clinical support duties in a research, medical laboratory or medical treatment facility setting; performing case accessioning and reviewing medical records to identify malignant disease cases; entering and maintaining data in the Automated Central Tumor Registry (ACTUR) and other databases; coordinating with healthcare providers and external facilities to obtain missing or updated information. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Position Overview

About the Position: This position supports Tumor Registry by using knowledge of both standardized and specialized medical records and quality assurance, incumbent is responsible for performing a variety of technical duties necessary for the development, maintenance and analysis of diagnostic and therapeutic cancer data. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

Duties

  • Assists In compiling and maintaining a comprehensive database.
  • Reviews standard and electronic patient medical records.
  • Assists in maintaining all tumor registry files.
  • Identifies and codes topography, morphology, and other relevant information for each reportable incidence of cancer.
  • Sets up, organizes, inputs, and maintains patient data.
