Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service which includes: 1) Obtain all vital signs such as: blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respirations, pain level, height, weight, measurement of head circumference, and length: 2) Performing routine nutrition screenings for outpatients throughout their treatment period to identify nutritional risks; and 3) Entering and maintaining patient data and clinical information in automated database systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). OR Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field directly related to the work of the position, such as, Healthcare Technician, Medical Technician, and other related health science fields of study. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9. Position Overview

About the Position: This position is with the Defense Health Agency. It is located at the Lyster Army Health Clinic on Fort Rucker, Alabama. Will be working in medical treatment facility, dining facilities, child facilities and at units in and around the installation. M-F, 40 hours a week, hours may flex. This is a Direct Hire Solicitation

Duties

• Obtain all vital signs such as: blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respirations, pain level, height, weight, measurement of head circumference, and length; and perform administrative tasks such as appointment scheduling.
• Conduct specialized clinical assessments, such as nutrition and health screenings, perform patient screenings, and synthesize critical health data from medical records and patient interviews to determine care requirements.
• Reviews with patients prescribed therapeutic regimens, deliver specialized health instructions, monitor patient compliance and progress, and document all clinical care in the electronic medical record.
• Review laboratory results and bring abnormal results to attention of Dietitian.
• Document patients' chief complaints and other pertinent information in the health record.
• Provide guidance to dining facility staff to ensure support services align with requirements.
• Execute administrative and quality assurance tasks, including collecting and analyzing performance improvement data, managing patient satisfaction programs, and utilizing office automation systems to produce reports.
