Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes utilizing automated database and software systems to manage third party billing and collections, performing internal audits on patient claims and reviewing coding and billing errors for resolution. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in hospital administration, public health administration, or related fields such as business or public administration with course work in health care administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
Position Overview
About the Position: This position is located at A.T. Augusta Military Medical Center, Director for Medicine, Department of Emergency Medicine, Emergency Medicine Clinic. This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
Duties
- Monitor patient scheduling for the Military Treatment Facility's primary care areas.
- Perform analysis of functions and/or procedures of the facility.
- Review and/or update office procedures to meet guidelines
- Utilize various software packages and other specialized tools in support of specific functions.
- Utilize automated systems to create documents, correspondence, and reports for the facility.
- Establish, reviews, and updates complex office procedures, guidelines, and processes to ensure effectiveness, efficiency, and quality management in meeting patient needs.
- Serve as DMHRSi timekeeper to ensure appropriate workload capture for the department.
- Serve as ATAAPS timekeeper to ensure appropriate submission of time cards is completed prior to end of pay cycles.
