Position Overview

This position is located in the Division of Risk Management Supervision, Applied Technology Section of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and provides support in the development, implementation and enhancement of information management systems in support of the Division’s mission, business lines, and strategic and operational objectives.

Duties

At the full performance level, major duties include:

  • Serves as the principle in the development and execution of RMS and IT operational and organizational change initiatives. 
  • Performs needs analyses to define opportunities for new or improved business process solutions; and identifies, analyzes, and documents risks/issues and communicates decisions.
  • Collaborates with RMS executives, managers, and other divisions to achieve coordinated IT management objectives necessary to fulfill FDIC and RMS objectives for supervision.
  • Leads, coordinates, integrates, and is accountable for the overall project management success of the design, documentation, development, modification, testing, installation, implementation, and support of Division applications, models, tracking systems, and reporting tool.
  • Plans and coordinates with the Chief Information Officer Organization (CIOO) to ensure timely and effective implementation of all RMS IT initiatives, including but not limited to planning and establishing broad goals for long or short-term IT operations and capabilities.
  • Researches and answers technical inquiries on a wide array of issues or systems.

Qualifications & Requirements

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. CG-13: To qualify, applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the CG-12 grade level in the federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience utilizing information technologies to support an IT program, including software, application development, maintenance, and operations, and applying these technologies to supervision or examination systems or processes.

CG-14: To qualify, applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the CG‑13 grade level in the federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience utilizing information technologies and applying business requirement analysis to lead and manage an IT program, including software, application development, maintenance, and operations, with experience supporting or integrating technology solutions used in supervision or examination programs.
