Requirements Continued... As a condition of employment for accepting this position, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period during which your fitness and whether your continued employment advances the public interest will be evaluated. This probationary period period is an extension of the appointment process and therefore requires the agency to determine if continued employment would advance the public interest, meet the organization goals and mission of the agency, and/or otherwise promote the efficiency of the service. In determining if your employment advances the public interest, the agency will consider: your performance and conduct; the needs and interests of the agency; whether your continued employment would advance organizational goals of the agency or the Government; and whether your continued employment would advance the efficiency of the Federal service. Under applicable law, the employment of an individual serving a probationary or trial period automatically terminates when that period ends unless the agency affirmatively certifies, in writing, that the individual's employment should continue and that their appointment should be finalized. Qualifications: To qualify for this position, you must have sufficient knowledge and ability in the following job-related factors: Ability to Lead or Supervise: Ability to lead or supervise maintenance mechanics equivalent to the WG-10 level. Qualifying experience is experience that demonstrates your ability to organize assignments for subordinates, estimate materials and manpower, prepare work orders and reports, train others on maintenance mechanic work in at least two of the follow trades (Masonry, Electrical, Plumbing, Air Conditioning Equipment Mechanic, Utilities Systems Repair-Operator and Engineering Equipment Operator), explain work manuals and procedures, and motivate others to work efficiently and productively. (SCREEN OUT) Ability to Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation Repair, etc. Knowledge of Materials Technical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic) Use of Measuring Instruments Ability To Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc. (includes blueprints reading) If your knowledge and ability in the SCREEN OUT factor above is not sufficient, you will receive no further consideration. Position Overview

This position is located at Denali National Park and Preserve Park in the Maintenance Division. You will serve as a working Maintenance Mechanic Leader. Career-Seasonal appointments are permanent positions and include the same benefits as Career appointments, but do not provide work on a year-round basis. You will be in a non-pay status from approximately November 22 to December 5 unless other work exists that can be assigned to you during this period.

Duties

• Some of the major duties you will perform include but are not limited to the following: Serve as a leader of crews working on maintenance projects. Provide instruction and guidance to crews and ensures safety protocols are followed. Complete masonry work on structures as needed. Perform preventative maintenance related to electrical equipment infrastructure in accordance with required codes. Complete plumbing work on new and existing infrastructure including sewer systems, water systems, and heating systems. Complete work on heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
