*Requirements Continued...* As a condition of employment for accepting this position, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period during which your fitness and whether your continued employment advances the public interest will be evaluated. This probationary period is an extension of the appointment process and therefore requires the agency to determine if continued employment would advance the public interest, meet the organization goals and mission of the agency, and/or otherwise promote the efficiency of the service. Position Overview
You will serve as a FUL-Maintenance Worker. These positions are located in Pearl Harbor National Memorial in the Facilities Division. This position performs simple and routine work involved in the maintenance and repair of grounds, exterior structures, buildings and related utilities, requiring the use of a variety of trade practices associated with occupations such as carpentry, masonry, plumbing, electrical, cement work, painting, and other related trades.
Duties
- The major duties of the Maintenance Worker position include, but are not limited to, the following: Performs simple and routine maintenance and repair of grounds, exterior structures, buildings, equipment and related utilities Assists higher graded maintenance workers or tradesmen in the performance of their work. Operates government pickup truck, fork lift, electric utility carts, power equipment Cleans and services theaters, restrooms and other park buildings, making minor repairs as needed and refers problem to higher graded employee Assists Housekeeping to deep clean buildings assigned by the Facility Manger, picks up litter throughout the grounds and parking areas, changes out all trash cans
